The Bible being God's breath

2 Tim 3:16-17

All scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for conviction, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be complete fully equipped for every good work.

The Bible is God's breath. Every word in the Bible is God's breath. God breathes out, we breath in by reading His Word. With this in mind, we also need to see that the Bible is also God's gift to us. Just as we treasure a gift from others, how much more we need to treasure a gift from God.

Many of us do not even read the Bible, let alone treasure it. Most of us would buy a Bible and place it on the shelf. Only on Sunday when we want to take it out only we take it off the shelf and blow the dust off it. Is this the way we treat the Bible?

Today, we should take the opportunity to read and understand the Bible properly. We are very blessed today to be able to read the Bible whenever we want without fear of persecution. Therefore, let us start treasuring the Bible today by having a desire to fully understand the Bible. By unserdtanding the Bible, then only we can be used by God for every good work.

1 Tim. 2:4

[God] Who desires all man to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth.

Here, we see two aspects that is (1) to be saved, and (2) come to the full knowledge of the truth.

This is God's desire that all man could be saved and to fully understand the Bible. So let us start reading the Bible today.

2010 Fall South West College Conference at Latham Springs

Eph. 3:10-11 : 10 in order that now to the rulers and authorities in the heavenlies the multifarious wisdom of God might be made known through the church, 11 According to the eternal purpose which He made in Christ Jesus our Lord, The church is not something thought of by God after man's fall. The church is actually purposed in God's heart even from eternity past. Regardless of what happens, God still wants a group of people to express Him and glorify Him. However, man fell and God had to recover man back to Himself. Thus through incarnation, human living, crucifixion, resurrection, and becoming the life-giving Spirit - this processed Triune God can now enter into our human spirit and make home in our hearts. This is the goal of God's economy, from eternity past to eternity future, to gain a group of people joined and knit together to become the universal Body of Christ. Hallelujah!

A little on God's heart

Seeking of this age to taste, And of it have a part. If we only knew, dear Lord, The ways we grieve Your heart. We would come and turn to You With a repenting heart, And would give ourselves to be With you, O Lord, inside the Ark. May our life be filled constantly with the Lord Jesus Himself and let us not be just too caught up in our lives. Let us just go on in the Lord and not be one for ourselves. -2 Tim 2:22-

To You, dear Lord

To You, dear Lord, I give myself afresh again Unsparingly for Your desire, Your economy. O, fire from above, Come and consume me thoroughly That You may be my all, My life, my everything. It's Your mercy and Your love That I can give myself to You. Since it's in like manner That You gave up Yourself for me. Set Your throne in my heart From now on to the very end. It takes eternity to know its worth To You, to me. Author: Hyram Ting Composer: Hyram Ting May the Lord gain our heart so that he may gain His heart's desire. -2 Tim 2:22-
